Time for an update on the Diablo 3 launch.
As I alluded yesterday, all was not rosy in the Blizzard garden. The Asian launch saw accounts requiring painstaking manual activation by GMs, EU players hit the brick wall of overloaded registration servers and finally the Americas server had to be taken offline when something blew up somewhere. Or at least that’s what it sounded like.
Of course, when a lot of people are simultaneously disappointed, the Internet strikes back.
First came the good-natured meme-ing.
Then came the counter-offensive on Metacritic and Amazon.
Naturally this will all pale into insignificance in a few weeks time. I wonder if any of the people will decide to recant their Reviews when they’ve had the chance to play the game.
Maybe “0/10: Horribly Awful” and “1/10: Absolutely horrible” may seem a little melodramatic, given time?
